Forever 7 Emilee Tribute

It’s with the heaviest of hearts that we share the heartbreaking news that beautiful Emilee passed away peacefully at home in her mummy’s arms on 26th May 2025, surrounded by nothing but love. Emilee was just 7 years old, but she leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will never fade. She will forever be in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone who was lucky enough to know her, including all of us here at The Nigel Prosser Foundation.

Emilee Has A Special Place In Our Hearts

Emilee holds a truly special place in our hearts, as she was the first child we ever supported when the foundation was established back in November 2024. I still remember coming across a Facebook post from her mum, Bec, who was reaching out for help and ideas on how to get Emilee outside again. Emilee had KCNQ2 and epileptic encephalopathy, and her condition had worsened so much that she could only lie flat on her back. This made it impossible for her to get outside or even be positioned comfortably.

Their only hope was a specialist wheelchair that could support her unique needs, something completely bespoke, but it came with a significant price tag of between £7,000 and £8,000. As a newly-formed charity with limited funds but big hearts, we knew we had to do something. We got to work straight away, contacting professionals, other charities and doing everything we could to find a solution.

Eventually, we found one, but we couldn’t fund it alone. So, we launched a GoFundMe campaign and, thanks to the kindness of so many, we raised £2,825 (including a generous £1,000 donation from Smile of Hope Charity). But before we could go any further, Bec shared the devastating update that Emilee’s health had declined further, and doctors had advised it would no longer be safe for her to go outside. Her immune system was too vulnerable, and any infection could shorten her life even more.

Helping Emilee With Her Last Moments

After speaking with Bec and the family, we made the decision to gift the funds directly to them so they could create special, lasting memories at home, safely. And that’s exactly what they did. Emilee was treated to magical Disney character visits (she absolutely adored anything Disney), they made beautiful hand and foot prints, and captured so many precious moments together as a family.

We were also determined to give them a Christmas to remember. We delivered gifts for Emilee and her siblings, and our sponsored caterer, Black Feenix Catering, lovingly prepared a Christmas dinner which we hand-delivered on Christmas Eve, ready for them to warm up on the big day. Nothing could ever take away their pain, but if we could bring a little bit of comfort, magic and joy to their Christmas, we knew we had done something right.

Rest In Peace, Emilee. We’ll Remember You Forever.

Emilee touched so many lives, and it was so clear when we attended her funeral, a beautiful service filled with love, Disney, butterflies and balloons. Her family did her so proud.

We continue to keep in touch with Bec and the family, and we’re looking forward to working closely with her on a very special project, Emilee will feature in one of our children’s books from The Adventures of Toby and Bubbles. It’s our way of helping Emilee’s story and memory live on, inspiring others just as she inspired us.

To Emilee’s family, thank you for letting us be part of your journey. We are so honoured to have supported you, and so grateful to have known Emilee. She will always be the first child we helped, and she will forever be remembered with love by everyone at The Nigel Prosser Foundation.

Fly high, Emilee. Forever 7. Forever in our hearts.
