Michelle De-Torre created this book with a clear vision: to produce a story that families could genuinely relate to, while also giving back in a meaningful and practical way.
As someone who understands first-hand the challenges faced by families of children with special educational needs, Michelle wanted to create something that offered reassurance, comfort and joy, particularly during the festive season, which can often feel overwhelming for many families.
Every element of the story has been carefully considered to ensure it feels supportive, inclusive and accessible, while still capturing the magic and excitement of Christmas.
A Collaborative Effort with a Personal Touch
We are also delighted to recognise the contribution of Emma Perks, Trustee of the Nigel Prosser Foundation, who collaborated closely with Michelle on the book. Emma played a key role in creating the illustration page layout, helping to bring the story to life visually in a way that feels calm, engaging and child-friendly.
The illustrations and layout have been designed to support understanding rather than overwhelm, making the book enjoyable and accessible for a wide range of children, including those who benefit from clear structure and visual cues.
