Jess and her Family

Jess And Her Family

Jess is a mum of two and has a Son called Oliver who is non-verbal and autistic.

"We have really struggled with our day to day lives with Ollie. There arn't really many places that we can attend that cater for his needs, we've also struggled with public perspection and him being seen as the naughty child... it cut's deep. We have not been able to find a group or something that we can attend where people are in a similar situation but that has recently changed. Last week we attended a free event for children with special needs. It was a stay and play at a soft play and wow... It was amazing. Oliver had a blast and it was so nice to be in a room of families in a similar situation and to get their advice and share stories. I cannot thank The Nigel Prosser Foundation enough." - Jess (Parent)

"Today myself and my family attended the first Sen session provided by the Nigel Prosser Foundation which I was amazed with how quickly my son adjusted to new surroundings as he usually struggles when being taken to unfamiliar places. The room was the perfect size, the specialist toys/sensory items there were great and it wasn’t too busy or too quiet. It was a perfect medium. Anyone needing a safe space to take there SEN child/children and feel welcomed and supported, this is the group for you! Thank you again❤️" - Lauren (Parent)

"I recently won a spinning carousel chair on the foundations raffle, the chair is amazing and my son loves it! Entry of the raffle was super easy and I won a fantastic prize off a very reasonable entry fee. Will definitely be supporting the foundation in any further raffles or competitions. Great work guys!!⭐️" - Lucy (Parent)

That’s not all we’ve supported even more SEN families, and their kindness and feedback mean so much to us.

Amber

SEN Parent

Becoming a SEN parent is being forced into a club where there is very little guidance, support or information. We didn’t ask to be a part of this club and we had no choice in whether we wanted to join, and once in it you are expected to just get on with it with very little help or guidance from professionals. That is where Nigel Prosser Foundation steps in. They provide weekly SEN Support groups for parents and children, where the children can play safely without judgement and the parents can talk about their experiences and give recommendations. It provides parents the needed support and advice so they are less alone facing a daunting future with their SEN child. The added addition of a meal allows children to try food without the parents footing a very costly food bill just for it to be thrown away. Nigel Prosser Foundation provides a very much needed community and support system for SEN families and I can’t recommend them enough.

Tegan

SEN Parent

As a mother to a child with a rare genic condition I have found that not many people understand us as a family or listen to our struggles. But a close friend to my daughter’s family helped us find this charity and upon speaking to them and just even explaining a small amount of what life is like for my daughter they swooped in straight away and helped my daughter gain a piece of equipment that is going to give her some much freedom she desires and we could not be more grateful for the help and how quick you helped us and how much they want to help raise awareness on different neurodivergent conditions to help others.

SEN Parent

I’m so happy I came along this charity, we felt welcomed has soon has we came through the door. My daughter enjoyed all of the different activities and it honestly gave us a little bit of respite, staff played with the children and having our meal cooked took the stress of meal times away. My daughter actually ate a meal something she never does at home, we look forward to coming on a regular basis.
